Nextera and Your Internet Service

Is Internet service provided with my Nextera account?

No. Nextera plans do not include internet access. Nextera is compatible with most high-speed internet service providers (ISPs).

What Internet Service Providers (ISPs) work with Nextera?

Nextera service will work with any non-satellite high-speed broadband internet service provider (cable, DSL, T-1 or T-3) except America OnLine DSL. Nextera requires 90 kbps of consistent upload/download speed per telephone line.

No. Nextera uses broadband or high-speed internet connections only.

No. At this time, Nextera service does not support Internet service provided by satellite providers.

No. At this time, Nextera service does not work with America OnLine DSL.

Does Nextera work with Windows Internet Connection Sharing (ICS)?

No. The default lease time is automatically set for 6 minutes with ICS. THe Nextera Phone Adapter needs infinite lease time otherwise the phone adapter may reboot in the middle of a call. Nextera recommends you purchase a DSL/cable router that will provide NAT and DHCP for your network.
